Pub trivia either is or isn’t your thing; if you love the idea of drinking beer and answering questions, you probably have a regular spot (or two, or seven). Whether you’re into trivia or not, I urge you to give the Monkey a chance. Patrick is the driest-witted, most charmingly abusive trivia host ever, and the Monkey is a divinely dingy dive in the U-District where you can buy newborn-baby-sized calzones next door and sing karaoke the minute trivia’s done. This is ideal trivia—not for history majors or übernerds, just you and five of your smartest friends (do bring an obscure-music lover and someone born before 1985, if you can). I AGREE. Monkey Pub is one of the best trivia nights in town. The same host does karaoke afterwards, with the same, as you so aptly put it, charming abuse.
Free booze? Not.
