After a series of beloved party records packed with beats from around the globe—2005’s Balkan Beat Box, 2007’s Nu Med, 2010’s Blue Eyed Black Boy—Israel’s Balkan Beat Box get radical on their new release, Give. Beats still rule, but the world of sounds is reined in, with much of the music supplied by the band’s members on guitar, bass, and drums. Punkier than anything that’s come before, Give is also explicitly political; song titles include “Money” and “Political Fuck.” Live, expect a pointed riot.
