The Peacemaker FOOD & DRINK
The Peacemaker

Family-owned Five Fish Bistro, in a former UPS Store on Broadway, is a friendly counter-service place that fries five selections of fresh fish daily. What you want to get is the Peacemaker, which is a big ol’ po’boy with deep-fried oysters (with not-too-heavy cornmeal breading), bacon, and cheddar cheese. The lore of the name is that this is the sandwich that those who stayed out late drinking in New Orleans would bring home to their spouses to make the peace. That would completely work with this sandwich. Too bad Five Fish Bistro isn’t open all night. (Five Fish Bistro, 410 Broadway E, www.fivefishbistro.com, noon–9 pm, $10.25)
