Dig, if you will, the picture: As you read this, a bunch of butch, handy men and women are in their basements and garages converting power tools into racing machines. They’re attaching wheels and circular blades to chain saws, belt sanders, grinders, and anything else that spins with a dangerous fury. On June 9, these people will congregate in Georgetown, as they do every year, to drink beer and race their machines. It will be fun, loud, and occasionally frightening.
