It is difficult to think of a more pleasant way to spend a late Sunday afternoon than strolling around Ballard in the sunshine (or, failing that, the rain) and going to the relaxed, lovely, and civilized bar Barnacle for a glass of prosecco and the $6 snacks they make for “cavi-hour.” Each small plate features a different kind of caviar, and each (deviled eggs with salmon roe and sweet pimenton, for example) is more delicious than the last. It’ll remind you how very lucky you are to have a mouth. (Barnacle, 4743 Ballard Ave NW,, 4–7 pm)
