Created in 1994 by authors/activists Michelle Tea and Sini Anderson, Sister Spit is the multimedia queer-art extravaganza originally built upon "notorious, talented, and just frickin' awesome women and dykes." For the 2011 reboot, the gender gate's swung open to include guys (trans, gay, other). On board for the Seattle gig: poet Ali Liebegott, performance artist Kirk Read, writers Myriam Gurba and Blake Nelson, photographer Amos Mac, novelist/Stranger Genius Rebecca Brown, and founding goddess Michelle Tea.
