The Stranger

Nine Nation Animation is an animated shorts festival featuring work from around the world, in just about every genre of cartoon you can imagine. The program includes computer animation that looks just realistic enough to unsettle some basic part of your brain; stop-motion animation starring a box of matches; weird, sexy manipulated static drawings; and good old-fashioned clean hand-drawn cel animation. You don't need language to identify with these characters. Between the belly laughs and the moments of wonder, you will understand a basic truth: Fuck love and music—animation is the universal language.
