Maybe the best thing about Big Boi's outstanding new solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, has been watching casual OutKast fans (myself included) reevaluate his role in the revered duo. Absent Andre 3000's attention-grabbing aesthetic antics (due to some record label jive), the album reveals Big Boi as the underrated bedrock he's always been: cool as fuck, leaned way back in the Cadillac, as handy with a G-funk hook as he is with the tongue-twisting wordplay. No golf hats necessary. (Showbox Sodo, 1700 First Ave S, 628-3151, 8 pm, $29.50 adv/$33 DOS, all ages)
