Past performances by theater company Implied Violence have involved
cupcakes, hiphop, Gertrude Stein, boxing, vaudeville, dance,
cotton candy, and cigars. Tonight, IV hosts what they call “the
Daytona 500 of fundraisers,” with a dozen bands
(Pleasureboaters, T. v. coahran, members of the Trashies and the
Dead Science), a psychedelic dance party, and a chorus screaming
out all 13 episodes of R. Kelly’s Trapped in the
Closet. Piñatas will be smashed. Booze will be
drunk. Cotton candy will be made. Doesn’t that sound great? (A
