'Berlin: Symphony of a City'

Why: The most famous of the "city symphonies" inspired by Dziga Vertov's Kino-Eye (before Vertov made Man with a Movie Camera and outclassed them all), Berlin: Symphony of a Great City tracks the citizens of Weimar Berlin for a single working day from dawn to night. For this twice-only SIFF event, Seattle psych-rock band Kinksi supplies a rapturous live score. (The Triple Door, 216 Union St, seattlefilm.org. All-ages show at 7 pm, 21+ at 9:30 pm, $15 adv/$18 DOS.)
