(MUSIC & ART) Through his work as a poet, painter, writer, and obscenely prolific musician, Billy Childish has earned cult status as a sort of Renaissance folk punk. While this maniacal work ethic and lack of internal editor results in more than a few uneven moments, even the most hastily conceived explosions—be they on stage, canvas, or page—produce shards of brilliance. A rare Northwest appearance not to be missed. (Sunset Tavern, 5433 Ballard Ave, 784-4880. 9 pm, $10, 21+.)
