Clare Butcher, a great name for a critic, writes for a South African online art journal called Artthrob.
Out of curiosity, who are you trying to speak to with this work?

That sounds wonderfully impenetrable. Thank you. I’m baffled by all the people who complain about you being brainy. The reason I hardly go to contemporary art exhibitions any more is because it’s all so insultingly stupid: so often predicated on the idea that I’m some bovine herd that needs to be prodded in order to “think”. The idea that a piece of art would need a researcher is manna in the desert for me. I’m not in Spain, but I’ll keep an eye out for chances to see this.
