- Can you hear this, or should I turn it up?
I’ve been a little swamped this week, so even though this awesome dinosaur news has been sitting in my in-box, I have failed to report it to you til today. I apologize, especially since it’s such a fantastic specimen:
…researchers have unearthed the first known dinosaur with only one finger. The new single-digit species, named Linhenykus monodactylus and described online today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, was found in a roughly 80 million year old rock formation in Inner Mongolia.
The tiny carnivore stands just two feet tall, and scientists believe it used its single digits to forage for insects. He also uses it to flip-off creationists.

I want so badly to make a thalidomide joke, but that would be insensitive.
@1: Oddly enough, the problems with thalidomide were caused by…handedness.
Oh, that was dextrous, @2, not at all sinister.
Dextrose? What the hell has sugar got to do with it?
But you’re not following the script, FTE. It says right here you’re supposed to intone “You only need one digit to work the trigger… although two hands are best for gun control.” XD
(For anyone wondering what venomlash is on about: lmgtfy.)
