Politico:

“At this moment when bin Laden has been brought to justice, we especially remember the sacrifice of the young Americans who’ve paid the ultimate price in defense of the nation, as well as the nearly 3000 Americans who lost their lives on 9/11,” he said.

Cheney offered his appreciation to the Obama administration. “I also want to congratulate President Obama and the members of his national security team,” he said.

What is made clear by the assassination of Osama? You did not need a whole army to do it. All you needed was a small crew and good and cost-effective intelligence. And how does one get good intelligence in this complicated world? By respecting the international community and not attacking members of your own intelligence community.

Charles Mudede—who writes about film, books, music, and his life in Rhodesia, Zimbabwe, the USA, and the UK for The Stranger—was born near a steel plant in Kwe Kwe, Zimbabwe. He has no memory...

  1. Um, Charles, it may have only taken a small crew to go in and kill bin Laden, but it took the whole military to get them there. If you’d like some specifics, I’ll share.

  2. Thank god we didn’t have one of those pesky trials. Just killing Bin Laden is so much better.

I just can’t wait until we use that approach for criminals here in the United States!!

  3. Imagine, if we had a competent person in the White House in 2001 instead of some intellectual shitstain installed by judicial coup, this headline would be like, 8 or 9 years old.

  4. I want to know if technically we executed him after capturing him, or if he was killed while resisting capture. To me, those are different things. Obama said, “after a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden and took custody of his body.” But the news today says he was killed in the firefight, which isn’t assassination (in my view). Have they released more details about what (allegedly) happened?

  5. The whole story stinks. First of all, as most people have forgotton, Bin Laden was a CIA asset. Second, he was probably a patsy for the 9/11 false flag operation. Not even the FBI believes there’s enough proof that he was involved in the 9/11 attacks, which is why they aren’t mentioned on his profile for the FBI’s “10 most wanted profile”. Third, he probably died a long time ago from kidney failure. Of course it doesn’t really matter whether he died 10 years ago or last night. The warmongers will create more boogeymen to scare the masses and false flag attacks to pin on patsy boogeymen.

  6. @ 8, there are a few differences between OBL’s plans and his operation, and McVeigh’s. Let me know if you’d like me to highlight some of them, and see if that allows you to understand why your comparison is ridiculous.
