Ugh! Nothing is OK about Newborn Dolls, ever! Maximum creepiness, even when it isn’t a baby werewolf.
“you guys, NO” should definitely become a regular stranger feature.
also, gross.
I don’t think they’re going to be able to “Muppet Babies” this franchise with those things.
Actually, the most horrifying thing to come out of Harry Potter is the fanfiction. Dobby/Hagrid. Giant Squid/Hogwarts. Griphook/Harry.
It’s stupid too. Lupus wasn’t born a werewolf. Voldemort wasn’t born w/ snake eyes. Non-fans won’t want this shit because it’s creepy garbage and real fans won’t want it because it’s inaccurate.
And of course, the artist has vetted these through Ms Rowling’s representatives, has received authorization to sell these as official HP licensed merchandise, and is paying appropriate royalties on each and every purchase, yes?
Because otherwise, I think UK copyright law would allow her to be shot; if not for outright violation of the law, then at least for having the temerity to inflict these abominations on the world at-large.
Unless it’s a parody …
@5 Exactly.
@5, not to mention that Harry didn’t get that scar for sme time after he was born.
Pretty silly stuff.
I hate those newborn baby dolls. And they are crazy expensive. One of my former students, who makes minimum wage in a day care, paid over $3000 for one of those, just to have it. She’s trying to sell it now because she realized that she needs to pay rent and eat.
Aaaw… I think they’re kinda cute. How much did you say they cost again?
@5 @8 @9 YES! <3
@5: “Non-fans won’t want this shit because it’s creepy garbage and real fans won’t want it because it’s inaccurate.”
Yeah, like “real fans” are never creepy.
On that note, I’m sure the Twilight-themed newborns will sell thousands.
@13 Root left open the possibility that real fans would be down to buy them, if they were accurate.
Who cares if they’re “accurate”? If I was the richest man in the world, I’d buy up a ton of those Voldemort dolls and surreptitiously drop them into strollers clustered outside of places where new parents tend to cluster, like the zoo.
@14: Yeah, but my opinion is skewed by all the “real” fans who write fairly non-canon slash anyway.
