Salon says that after Herman Cain said he wouldn’t allow Muslims in his presidential administration, Republicans tried to hold an intervention:

But it’s worth noting that Cain’s anti-Muslim comments have not gone entirely unchallenged in the conservative world. Earlier this year, a group of conservative leaders of different faiths — Jewish, Christian and Muslim — privately confronted Cain about his March statement that he would not hire a Muslim American to be in his cabinet, according to a conservative activist familiar with the discussion.

Needless to say, it didn’t work; Cain cooled it for a little while, but he’s back to his bigoted anti-Muslim talking points. If Republican leaders want to try again, they should bring a camera next time; that would make some fine television.

  1. I know Republicans don’t give a shit what other countries think of us, which is why Bush was so fucking ineffective on a global scale, but if those assholes want to start street battles like they have in other places, this Cain clown is their go to guy. Fucking moron.
