Break out the martini shaker! Hide the dog! Put on pants! It’s election night and we’ll post every enthralling detail right here on Slog, your hometown, fudge-covered, Stalinist blog!

But we hear you. Now that the entire state votes by mail, some folks around The Stranger offices think that election night isn’t what it used to be—when the trickle of tabulations from election workers over several hours crescendoed with the victory for winners and crushing defeat for losers. But others don’t buy that. Others aren’t stoned yet. Others look back on the past few years and see that, even though we vote by mail, we basically know who wins (Mike “Sterling Buns” O’Brien) and who would lose on election night (cough, cough, Tom Carr).

The important thing is this: Celebrating the civic wonder that is democracy reading gossip about losers drinking their blues away. So beginning this evening at about 6:00-ish, join us for the celebrations, the drinking, and the meat platters.

It should be your, not you’re. And you guys aren’t industrial enough nor pro state liquor store enough to be Stalinist. 😉
