The Seattle Police Department’s bomb squad is currently investigating a suspicious device found next to the body of someone “believed to be female,” who was reportedly hit by a train near Carkeek Park. Ugh.

From the SPD Blotter:

On 8/18 at around 9:04 a.m., Seattle Police North Precinct patrol officers responded to a report of a train/pedestrian fatality collision on the train tracks near Carkeek Park. 1. Swat raids on empty houses, bomb squads for backpacks.

community policing in neighborhoods? TOO EXPENSIVE

WE NEED RED LIGHT CAMERAS CAUSE WE DONUT HAVE ENOUGH POLICE!

NEED UBER LAWYERS TO DEFEND AGAINST LAWSUITS!

    keep it classy SPD

  2. I remember once seeing an abandoned suitcase on a Sounder train and having this little debate in my mind: “Hmm. There’s an off chance it’s a bomb. On the other hand, it probably isn’t, and if I point it out to a conductor everyone on this train will be late for work.” Ultimately I didn’t say anything.

  3. This would all seem somewhat humorous in a dark sense except…
    One, someone got killed.
Two, that the police thought it was a a possible threat.

My question would be what is real? Who profits and who can be used?
    est nes pa?

Maybe, and just saying, that going all wiggy on internal secuity with million upon millons of private contracts isn’t a good idea at all.
