Two minutes to midnight on Saturday, August 27, a UW freshman was alone and waiting for the bus at the Northgate Transit Center when five men approached him. According to a report filed by Seattle Police Officer Emerick, one of the men asked for a dollar to catch a bus home while another snatched the freshman’s iPod. The group then ran east toward the nearby Regal Cinemas.
He had only been in America for a few days. “[He] said he was frightened and could only provide a basic description of three suspects,” including that “the ‘majority’ of them were wearing shorts,” Officer Emerick’s report notes. The cops then gave him a ride home.

@21 way to fail at history, the place where most black lineages originated are still in slaver by their own kind, and slavery as well as segregation is rampant the whole world over, the US actually has some of the lowest levels of such aspects through all of history. It’s a lame excuse for being a criminal, period, because that’s in the past and has been for a long time. Face facts, in our area the largest criminal population just happens to be black, doesn’t mean all black folk are like that, but that does not excuse their behavior in any way, a criminal is a criminal. Just because someone points it out doesn’t make them racist inherently.
As for the China thing, yes, their social class divide is larger and they do tend to be more naive because of it, those with enough money to travel to the US are rarely subjected to criminal behavior, their culture segregates based on income, and it’s an efficient segregation making the wealthy there highly “protected” from the others. The local culture segregates based on sub culture here, rockers, ravers, junkies, gang bangers, etc. separate themselves from the others, it’s just human nature to find someone more like you. The building I live in is oddly considered an exclusive housing development, the management are particular in who they allow in, and because of that there have been almost no problems. Our sub culture here are people who care about the building and organization, the management seeks out those who care about rules and understand the need for them, it’s another of the many subcultures and we’re perfectly happy being segregated from the rest because we enjoy the peace and safety we have for it.

Really? Plenty of poor Chinese immigrants down in Chinatown (ID) but how come it’s the blacks there you have to watch? BTW many of the Asian students at UW are on scholarships sponsored by their home countries. They’re not ‘rich kids’, especially if they are on the bus, but the best of the best students who earned their positions and judging by grades at UW, will be top of their classes. It’s called hard work and ambition.
