Hey Christopher, don’t feel too bad about your birthday.
There are tons of other people in the same club. Meet some of them here. Y’all should have joint parties or something.
(P.S. Whose accompanying art wins? Their burning WTC birthday candles or our french fry and ketchup towers? Hard to say!)

funny about the orgy of navel-gazing on 9/11, everyone and their grandma scrambling to write about it already (look forward to Nipper’s 9/11 post, and maybe Sean Nelson Emeritus could chime in with one too). having it be one’s birthday would seem to make avoiding self-absorption around this time well-nigh impossible.
I was at the dentist reading a People with kids who never met their mom or dad. Crying me a fucking river about your goddamn birthday.
Susie Tennant, longtime music industry ass kicker and Seattle Town Hall employee, is currently undergoing chemo for the ovarian cancer she was diagnosed with this summer.
Scott Giampino, talent buyer at the Triple Door, had his Lake Forest Park house burned down by a never-caught arsonist. A couple years later, a doctor cut open his chest and messed around with his ticker.
Both Susie and Scott were born on September 11 and you can fucking bet that they are very happy to celebrate that fact every single year. I sure am.
As William DeVaughn once sang, be thankful for what you’ve got.

The fateful day wasn’t merely the birthday of the founder of DailyKos … it was his 30th birthday.
“Worst Birthday in Human History”? What day did the Trail of Tears start? Or what day did Hitler authorize the “Final Solution”? Yeah, that headline puts everything into its proper perspective.
Christmas birthdays are still worse.
Your picture is better- because holy christ, theirs is a terrible photoshop job.
@3 A big shout-out to Susie, who is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. We used to work together and I miss seeing her face around. We’re all cheering for you, Susie!
Yeah, we should only ever talk about all the serious problems other people have. No room for anything else. SERIOUS PROBLEMS ALL THE TIME.
I think you all are missing the larger point that September 11th is my birthday. Mine.
