Tim Knowles is a British artist whose tree drawings—drawings made by attaching pens to tree branches next to an easel, and allowing the wind to make the drawing for him—are included in the group show Game Theory at Cornish right now. (Really good show; more on it in next week’s paper.)
The tree drawings are funny, what with the tree-hands all trained on the easels, like illustrations for some additional chapter of The Giving Tree.
But they’re also sort of pathetic, the trees put to work like that. (No smoke break for you, tree! Make the drawing!) It is ridiculous.

I find these really endearing, for some reason. Lots of neat concepts in the art on his site.
My sapling could have drawn that.
My god, @2. The funniest thing I’m going to read today and I found it in the comments on a blog.
Agreed. Nice, @2.
His work is great. Love Knowles!
