Laugh at her all you want. Susan Sarandon’s rad. Bloomberg reports:

Wall Street protesters, joined today by Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon, vowed to continue weeks of demonstrations after police squirted pepper spray at some participants and arrests mounted.

About 100 people camped out with mattresses and sleeping bags in Zuccotti Park as demonstrations against financial firms continued for an 11th day.

Sarandon reportedly told protesters, “You have to make your message clear… You don’t want the face of your movement to look like discontented people that don’t know what they’re talking about.”

  1. So, people are protesting corporations buying out government & government paying off corporations, all on the dime of the working-real-life-human. And the people protesting get arrested & maced, while the police physically protect wall street. Does this reality frighten noone?

  2. In response to NYPD’s violent response over the weekend, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell ran shockingly-astute statement about police misconduct in the United States. I’ve never heard a mainstream news reporter state so candidly just what problem we face with a tiny portion of our police (those who abuse their authority) and with almost every police supervisor and with almost every mayor (those who refuse to do a damned thing about those bad apples).

  3. Please, no threats—just crank calls from pay-phones and prepaid cells bought with cash, e.g.:

“Hello, have you got an officer Anthony Bologna [boh-LO-ña] there?”
    —“Yes.”
“Well, you’d better let him out, then.”

    …or
“Tell it to stop, it’s legs are getting _tired_.”

Threats both are the tool of the Enemy and will get the answering personnel mad at you; puerile surrealism will get them madder at “him”.

Or, you can just claim to be be doing a survey for the O! network, or asking for a contribution to the Santorum campaign.
