One answer to Goldy’s question:
Kathy Cummings, spokesperson for the Washington State Labor Council, tells me her group is supporting the Occupy Wall Street / Seattle protests.
In a letter just posted on the organization’s blog, the council writes:
On behalf of the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and our 500 affiliated local unions and over 400,000 union women and men we want to express our solidarity with “Occupy Seattle” for standing up for and speaking out on behalf of the 99% who have victimized by corporate and political decisions that put the interests of corporate America and Wall Street before the people.
“We have also declared Oct. 10 – 14 as a week of action around the country to support jobs and a fair economy,” Cummings told me.
So is the council actually mobilizing people to go down and support the protest?
“Not yet, but we’re in discussions about that,” Cummings said. “And one of our leaders has met with them.”
You guys went from completely ignoring these protests to reporting every miniscule detail of them within about six days.

Well, Urgutha, I guess there was a limit to how long they could beat the “war on cars” to death.

I’m happy The Stranger is covering Occupy Seattle as well. Even if half of the 99% doesn’t understand that we are doing it for their benefit.
