Seattle City Council member Tim Burgess’s campaign for mayor flamed out hotter and faster than any campaign we can recall—after raising the most money; sorry, donors!—and he subsequently shut down his Capitol Hill office on East Pike Street.
But now that office is open again for the mayor’s race. As Slog tipper Matt reports, state senator Ed Murray, who is also running for mayor, moved his campaign headquarters into the same storefront yesterday. “The Burgess campaign’s gold and burgundy stripes and graphics have been removed, and the Ed Murray blue and gold stripes and graphics are going up right now,” Matt says.
Is Murray worried the place is cursed? “No symbolism intended,” said his campaign spokesman, Sandeep Kaushik. “We wanted an office on Capitol Hill that was convenient to our volunteers and had enough space but wasn’t too expensive. And this was the best space we liked at by far.”
Better luck to you, Mr. Murray!
