I was at a huge outdoor family 4th of July picnic yesterday. Not my family, who are all the way over in Michigan, but the family of one of my best girlfriends. These two cuties rolled up, and starting waving from a parking lot across the street. I went over to say hello, and the conversation went like this:

Lady on left: “There sure are a lot of people over there. Is that one big family?”
Me: “Yes, it’s not my family, but…”
Lady on right: “That’s so nice. Neither of us have any family anymore.”
Me: “Hey, but you still got each other, right?”

Then they high-fived each other, and rode off down the street.
