Trollhunter was one of those special SIFF discoveries that blew me away: I went in expecting nothing and I came away in a state of astonishment. How can a Norwegian found-footage movie about some students pestering a crusty old troll hunter be so funny, so inventive, so surprising? If you’ve somehow missed Trollhunter before now, you should not read any more about it—just show up and let its greatness wash over you. Way to totally fucking dominate the found-footage genre with a dense mythology and a winning story structure, Norway. Skål.
