But if you’re desperately trying to finish your film by today’s deadline—we’ve heard from a half a dozen filmmakers still putting the finishing touches on their films—you’re in luck! Due to various scheduling conflicts (all of them mine) the HUMP! Jury can’t meet until next Wednesday afternoon. So while today is and remains the official deadline for HUMP! 2014 submissions, anyone who gets their film to us by October 7 at 3 PM—one week from today—will be in the running for the HUMP! 2014 festival in Seattle, Portland, and Olympia, and the 2015 HUMP! Worldwide International Tour.
One of the four $1000 prizes awarded by audience ballot last year went to a film that was made three days before the deadline. So while some folks will use this extra week to finish their films, you can use this time—this whole extra week!—to cast, shoot, wipe up, edit, and finish your HUMP! film. All the info you need about making and submitting a film to HUMP! (including release forms) is here. Remember: 5 minutes max, there’s no entry fee, and $10,000 in prizes is awarded to filmmakers at HUMP!

HUMP! 2014 opens in Seattle at On the Boards on Thursday, November 6 and plays in Seattle, Portland (at Cinema 21), and Olympia (at the Capitol Theater) through Sunday November 16. Tickets go on sale TOMORROW.
