For those who are a little too demure to shed it all and hop on the World Naked Bike Ride, but might be inclined to bare your skin to chill breezes and still-wintery air in your favorite pair of knickers, prefer jogging to cycling, or are simply seeking a way to celebrate Valentine’s Day that doesn’t involve eating, drinking, fucking or flowers—and helps a charitable cause—there’s a pretty cool event coming up this Saturday.
Cupid’s Undie Run was first launched seven years ago in DC. 600 participants raised $10,000 for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. The 2016 event raised $3.7 million in 36 US cities. This year, the run takes place in 47 cities worldwide, including Seattle, and the goal is $4 million.
The best part? The run itself is only about a mile, you can go at your own pace, solo or with a team of your friends (the registration fee is $35 per person and any additional fundraising can earn you prizes), and you don’t really have to run in your undies. Although it kind of defeats the purpose of coming out to this thing if you don’t at least wear something you’d normally wear under something else. Plus, a big ol’ party follows the run and it’s over by 4 p.m., which means you still have your Saturday night free. Register here.
