It looks like Seattle may get the Sonics back, and people can’t wait. I’m not from here, but I can appreciate how big a deal this is. However, I’m not looking forward to people saying that Seattle finally has a basketball team. Because we do have a basketball team! It’s the Storm, and they’ve won the most championships of any professional Seattle team. Just go to Climate Pledge! You can look up to the rafters and see… one championship banner with four different years on it.
I’m sorry, what?? Am I in a high school gymnasium? Is this amateur hour? This surely can’t be a professional sports organization that has won FOUR championships trying to save space by listing them all on one banner. Are the Seahawks doing this? Is literally anyone else doing this? One banner for four titles makes it look like it’s easy (it’s not) and that we don’t know the rules of sports (maybe).
I can’t believe I’m asking, but I’d love to see four separate banners for the four championships the Storm have won. And for the Sonics to come back. Who says we can’t have it all?!
