Today, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office reported the first death in King County associated with the recent heat wave. The decedent, a man in his 60s from Seattle, had heart disease with heat as a contributing factor to his cause of death.

Pithy lulz aside, death by excessive heat is probably one if the more uncomfortable and prolonged ways to go.
Heat waves are among the more deadly natural disasters. But a tornado that kills two people in a trailer usually gets less attention than a heat wave that kills 10 people.
