Just got this question from a reporter about the paranoid anti-Obama rhetoric being thrown around by the right…
Do you believe this tone will lead to civil unrest and ultimately assignation attempts upon President Obama?
Hopefully there’s more than one dedicated Secret Service agent willing to come between the president and anyone trying to make an assignation attempt.

Umm… does this reporter know that the Secret Service has reported a 400% increase in threats against the President since Obama took office? Is he/she aware that openly armed right wing extremists now posture and parade around Presidential events? Or does this reporter live in a bubble?
wow, a sensationalist leading question from a member of the press corp? Color me unsurprised, but at least tell me the guy was working for either a high school paper or The Sun.
Who does this alleged “reporter” work for? World Nut Daily?
I think there’s a joke about the reporter attempting to ask about *assassination* attempts, but instead asking about the president being propositioned (assignation) and a dedicated Secret Service Agent taking one for the team.
Funny! But seeing a link to the definition of the misunderstood word makes me sad.
At first I thought “Little Death of a President” was referring to his orgasm. Now I wish it was.
(And if you didn’t get the reference, look here .)
I’m an idiot. That’ll teach me to comment without reading the text fully. gah.
Fail to see the joke in making light of something so serious, it doesn’t make them look smart either, and ass yes but not smart.
Short answer to a question with the appropriate word is a simple yes. What else would all that sort of vitriol lead to if not a criminal act? The repubicans know damn well what they’re instigating thru all this staged hick mobs on town halls.
Hopefully only Michelle will be successful in her assignation attempts.
Clever!
The civil unrest is in my pants.
This has inspired me to assignate my girlfriend tonight.
I know that it would give you nightmares, Dan, but I’m sure Obama will handle it with grace.
It reminded me of this:

This explains a lot about the quality of our news media and its ability to inform the population. Writers, who presumably went to college to prepare for their trade, and they don’t understand what words mean.
Let me think about it…
Yes.
Sounds like a Stranger caliber “reporter”
Um, dudes, with Michelle around, he doesn’t need any extra lovin’.
All my recent assignation attempts have ended in failure. If other people’s success rates aren’t any better I wouldn’t worry about it.
Eddie Murphy once joked that if Jesse Jackson was ever elected, they’d have to make him a moving podium to give him a chance against the snipers. Between birthers, white supremacists, misaimed anti-Islamists and other low-IQ folks who maintain the practice of acting before thinking, it’s no surprise that the number of threats against Obama is higher, by far, than previous Commanders In Chief Perhaps only Lincoln himself was more controversial a president than Obama is today.
On the other hand, in contrast to the last guy, the Secret Service actually want this president to live, so it’s impressive that they allow the armed crazies sport their sidearms within miles of the President. Were we radical liberals disposed to representing with weapons on display whenever Bush was in town, we’d have been arrested and molested, if not put on the terrorist list and disappeared.
Still, the smart Republicans are deathly afraid of the history-changing ambitions of their less bright brethren. The martyring of John F. Kennedy turned the civil rights movement into a grand slam, and put men on the moon. Kennedy remains a legend to this day. Imagine the potential of what could happen if our first black(ish) president, one with oratory skills to match Kennedy, was similarly sacrificed.
Funny — but when you’re about to publicly mock somebody else’s grammar, it’d be best to double check your own. “Trying to make an…attempt” is painfully redundant.
Spellcheck makes you a writer like Smart Choices makes you well-nourished. And both have a check mark symbol!
What does this have to do with the “little death”? Please tell me a sex columnist is not ignorant of the French meaning of this phrase…
