I like a sense of adventure with my flights. To add to the feeling of danger and exoticness, you should wear an REI safari shirt and stop by the Africa Lounge.
I usually ignore the info screens anyway. I know what time my flight is supposed to take off. I get told what gate it will be leaving from when I print my boarding pass. All I need to worry about is if either of those things change… and if they change, then there will be an overhead announcement.
Who needs giant screens telling me what a living breathing person just told me?
