I always feel that my volunteer work with Noise for the Needy is needed, appreciated, and making a difference. I get to meet tons of kind-hearted people every year, learn about amazing local non-profits, and be part of something I know is making a positive impact on our community. Besides, being part of a big rock festival is ridiculously fun! I have found that the best volunteer experiences of my life have been both challenging and extremely rewarding. I look for opportunities that allow me to use and grow skills I already have, while introducing me to new and interesting people and experiences.

More than ever, our focus needs to be on our neighbors, on our community, and how we can lend each other a hand. We may not have a lot to give each other, but every little bit counts. That’s why I volunteer. Idealistic as it may be, I truly believe that if I give my time, it will matter to someone, and may even inspire that person to give what they can, creating a hopeful ripple effect throughout my community. One of the things that attracted me to Noise for the Needy is the sheer number of ways you can be involved. From handing out festival brochures to working in production management, NFTN offers a sweeping spectrum of volunteer opportunities for everyone who would like to be involved:

  1. Dear NFTN, thrilled that you are posting to slog, but I’d suggest you shorten and tighten your posts. I think most readers glaze over around the 9th paragraph. Two short, powerful paragrapshs that are clearly written would be more effective.
