According to the Center for Whale Research, baby L114 was spotted on Sunday off Vancouver Island. The calf is in L Pod, which likes to hang out in Puget Sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

  1. somehow drunkenly “L114” transmogrifies into “Lindy”. shouldn’t that be this new little Orca’s non-database name? only given the original Lindy’s consent, of course.
(“and what if it turns out to be a male Orca?!”)

  2. I think this is the pod I saw totally fuck up a seal in the Neah Bay breakwater a few years ago. ‘Twas the highlight of an otherwise depressing and disappointing fishing trip. Depressing because we were in Neah Bay, disappointing because the charter boat broke down just as we hit the Strait.
