One of the many sucky aspects of Michael Jackson’s death last year was how it hijacked what should’ve been a year commemorating the 25th anniversary of Prince’s Purple Rain. With Jacko safely entombed, Prince’s audiovisual blockbuster gets a well-earned victory lap at Central Cinema. The movie remains a ridiculous messโ€”psychodramatic band interactions played out with puppets!
