Artist/writer Ryan Molenkamp has the scoop:
Artist, Curator, Arbitrary Grant-Awarder, Art Bar creator and all-around great guy Greg Lundgren (The Hideout, Vital 5 Productions, Lundgren Monuments, PDL, etc) Greg Lundgren has done this city another great service – he’s reopening Vito’s – with his business partner Jeff Scott! Read his letter to the First-Hill Neighborhood Association here. Greg told me they are planning on an August reopening and in his letter he said they have “purchased a beautiful grand piano for live performance…[we will] offer quality food, service and entertainment, and reach out to three generations of Seattlittes that hold fond memories there.
Hurrah.

yes! i used to love Vito’s before it got so janky…and i mean, JANKERS! i still can remember drinking there with billy childish and the headcoats back in 91. lots and lots of drinking.
Fantastic. I hope they do old school Italian food. I want some veal piccata. Mmm. Veal.
I hope they keep the tile nudie in the men’s room.
Good news about the quality food. Got VERY sick from food there a couple of times in the past. Also, if you’re going to host just-turned-21 parties there? Clean the bathroom with some frequency please? It was like a vomitorium.
Alls I care about is Ryan Molenkamp. Owning a piece of that man’s art is at the top of my list of things to do once I find a well paying job.
