Kemi Dessert Bar
Pastry chef Kelly Miao announced via Instagram this week that her playful, nostalgic Asian American pop-up Kemi Dessert Bar will soft open its brick-and-mortar location in the former Coping Cookies space on Capitol Hill tomorrow, March 1, from 11 am–4 pm or until sold out. Note that they’re a small team and still in training mode, so offerings will be limited but still delightful—the opening menu includes cookies, Rice Krispies treats, Basque cheesecake, and various beverages, with some vegan options available. I’ve got my eye on the “Golden Hour” drink (mandarin orange, brown sugar, honey, Yakult, and sparkling water).
