Prior to joining The Stranger, she was the co-editor of the East Bay Express in Oakland, Calif., where she also wrote award-winning stories about hunting wild boar, waste in the medical industry, and Yelp's shady advertising practices. In her spare time she beats drums and hikes through forests taking photos of trees.
