  1. It’s amazing how rePubelickans like Grateful Nuthin’ and 2012 insist on hanging onto the notion that Bushwackers were successful and that a month of Obama, wherein he’s trying to get a handle on the wreckage he was handed, is worse than eight years of resounding stupidity. But then again, stupid is as stupid likes.

I LOVE Pussy. You rock. (And that’s admittedly the only time this gay boy will ever say that.)

  2. @51 – If they’re a soundbite peddler, they probably don’t believe it either, but they’re trying to stir up the echo chamber to keep their power base.

If they’re one of the types who’s a true believer in AM Radio and Fox News, then they’ll take it at face value because they want it to be true.

So, let’s assume you make $100,000,000 a year, and you actually get your permanent tax break, so you’ve got some extra cash lying around. Tell me what you are going to do with what you’ve saved – build a hotel? No, you’ll squirrel it away until the market completely crashes and then you’ll buy assets at fire sale prices and feel smug about having bought at the right time.

So, your idea (if you can call stupidity an idea) does:
    1. Nothing to create jobs
    2. Nothing to keep asset prices from falling
    3. Nothing to stop foreclosures
    4. Everything to create a huge budget shortfall
    5. Everything to create huge long-term deficits

On the other hand, if you have large-scale public works projects, companies that win bids will be able to hire people to work on them, they will be able – federal contract in hand – to get financing they need to buy equipment/supplies and lines of credit from banks for operating expenses. The companies making equipment will have solvent buyers, so they can produce more equipment, meaning they won’t have to lay off people and may be able to hire more people.

In your tax-cut scenario, tons of people are on unemployment and the tax cuts have only created deficits. In my scenario, private sector jobs are created, American companies can start working again, tax revenues come in to pay for the public projects, and there are fewer people on the unemployment rolls.

You supply-siders are so stupid, it’s just unbelievable.

  4. @ 46, you’re exactly right. I’m so glad at least a few people get it. And to 49, and anyone else that thinks ROMNEY might have been a good idea, holy crap. Are you kidding?

I understand these are stressful times, I’ve heard independents (who did vote for obama) jump off the wagon before he was even inaugurated when he appointed Clinton to his cabinet, labeling him a “bullshit-er”… I would say, please, this is going to take time. All Obama has done is do the opposite of what the previous administration would have done, and that’s what we voted for. Give him more than a day to turn the world’s economy around before you start jumping off cliffs and desperately defaulting to Romney or Huckabee or Glen Beck. Good lord help us, please let sanity prevail.
