A church youth pastor is charged with taking indecent liberties with a child. York County investigators arrested 40-year-old Jack Ryan Duffer on August 13. Duffer is a youth pastor at a church in the Seaford area of York County. The Sheriff’s Office says the alleged incident occurred between July 24, 2009 and August 8, 2009 and involved a consensual sexual encounter with a female juvenile at a York County home.

A former Pasco County youth pastor pleaded guilty today to two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a 16-year-old girl and was sentenced to more than four years in prison, followed by six years of sex offender probation. Scott Dewayne Wright was arrested earlier this year and accused of touching the girl under her clothing and penetrating her with his fingers. He was in his 30s at the time of the offense, and had met the girl in 2007 when he was a youth pastor at Calvary Chapel Worship Center in New Port Richey.

Michigan:

A Livingston County jury convicted a Fenton youth pastor of inappropriately touching the son of a family friend. Randy Strong faces sentencing Sept. 17 after the 12-panel jury convicted him of second-degree criminal sexual conduct for inappropriately touching a then-10-year-old boy in 2002…. Court records stated that Strong was a part-time youth pastor in Durand when the incidents occurred. He is now listed as the director of the Region 3 Young Adult Campus Ministry for St. John the Evangelist parish in Fenton.

  1. The York County (Virginia) sheriff describes the attack between the 40-year old molester and his 13-year old victim as a “consensual sexual encounter”? What the fuck is up with that?

Oh, and @1, you’re a tool. Take a look around the right-wing Christo-fascist blogosphere, and you’ll see plenty of “homo watches”. The only difference is that they’re based on exaggeration, fear, and lies. Youth Pastor Watch is pulled from the public record.

  2. A lot of right-wing conservative seem particularly obsessed with watching “homos” engage in “immoral relations”.

    I wonder why that is.

  3. Regarding the Fenton, MI individual, has been accused of inappropriate conduct and (if you read the source article) claims to have been offered a plea deal which the prosecutor says was never offered. But the source article doesn’t say whether he’s still in his job or not. That’s something inquiring minds would really like to know.

  4. @4 That would actually require 1 to not be a mouth-breathing shit-heel and do something proactive as oppsed to being a cowardly anonymous troll.

  5. gee girls,
just trying to make a helpful suggestion.
about a third of the heroes
    Dan’s features on
    the Youth Pastor Watch
    (culled from PUBLIC RECORDS!!)
    are homosexuals
and this being slog and all
    it makes one wonder
if there shouldn’t be a separate
    (but EQUAL!!)
    Homosexual Youth Pastor Watch.

    I still think it’s a good idea…..

  6. @7, since many-to-most churches consider being gay and/or sleeping with someone of the same gender and anyone outside of the bounds of marriage to be sinful, I doubt there are a whole lot of “homosexual youth pastors” to watch. Now, there may be the occasional closeted youth pastor, but I think it is safe to assume that most youth pastors are either straight or straight-identified (married to a person of the opposite gender despite being attracted to teens, children, adults of the same gender, horses, whatever…), so Iโ€™m not sure that a โ€œhomosexual youth pastor watchโ€ would do a whole lot of good. But good luck with that anywayโ€ฆ

  7. Taking indecent liberties with a child is the actual term for a crime? Are terms like sexual assault, pandering, sexual propositioning, etc. too strongly worded for the delicate sensibilities of York County?
