MONDAY:

Aside from pygmy goats, the other cool thing Seattle homeowners can now have on their property are backyard cottages, or in zoning-speak, detached accessory dwelling units (DADUs). A bunch of architects and designers had a competition to design DADUs that look cool, and at tonight's Backyard Cottage Design Challenge Showcase you can see the winners, meet the creators, and dream of your own pinecone -dome-office thing. (SPACE: A Design Build Collective, 7601 Greenwood Avenue North, doors open at 5:30 p.m., free.)

TUESDAY:

It's the final public meeting on the South Park Bridge closure. Not sure what there is left for King County to say at this point other than "sorry, southwest Seattle", but hey! Public process! (Machinists Hall, 9125 15th Place South, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
