In a country with more of its population in prison than any other in the world, I can only find this depressing. A lot of those people shouldn't be having their mug shots taken to begin with.
2
I hate things like this. It tries people in the media and destroys their reputations before their trial. I've never seen a photo gallery of people found innocent of crimes. Sad to see that this is being sent around.
3
Very good point, Yinzer. Even if the news did publish a list of people found innocent, the people who saw the first list suggesting their guilt might not see it.
4
Exactly what I was thinking. It's theoretically possible that not one of these people is guilty.
5
wow, this is legal?
donโ€™t these people have any rights?
6
Jose Feliciano!! "Charges: burglary, theft and conspiracy"
7
dehumanizing.
8
Agree with everyone who isn't even sure this is legal. What if someone on this list is found not guilty or charges are dismissed, and later they have the record expunged? This site would still be forever archived.
9
I see a few people on this thread still need to be victims of serious crime.

You don't need to go to all the way to Chicago for this. We have it right here in Portland. Where criminals go to retire!

@6, Jose Feliciano charges: "No Dogs Allowed".

This is awful. Reminds me of the gay bar raids in the old days, where papers would routinely identify those arrested. Such a horror.

Sorry. "You have the right not to have a mug shot taken after you've been charged with a crime" isn't in the constitution.
14
@13, it's not the mug shot, it's the newspaper publishing same for shits and giggles.
15
I agree with mugshots being used to humiliate people who are arrested. That being said, this is just delicious.

This just highlights for me all the wasted money in the policing of weed. So ridiculous.
17
Looks like there was a big sweep against prostitution in Naperville. Also, this fellow has been accused of criminal damage to government property, and it looks like his arrest was rather unusual.
18
#15: And why should you be humiliated before you've been found guilty in a crime? What purpose is it supposed to serve? To say to kids, you can one be wrongfully arrested without hope of fairness? What moral universe do you live in?

If y'all wanna see my neighbors, here's a starter list: http://www.krem.com/news/crime/Mug-shots…

i dunno, grated they are innocent. but by judging the books by their cover, everyone with "burglary, theft and conspiracy" sure looked pretty damn guilty to me!

Please wait...
