Like Cienna, I am in mourning today for the dead pregnancy center bill that would have held Christian-run fake medical clinics accountable for preying on vulnerable women in their times of pregnancy crisis. Obviously, this local regressive gut-punch to women's healthcare is the last thing we need when nationally, Republicans are doing their very best to cut $300 million in funding from Planned Parenthood for preventative health screenings, as well as basic public assistance for low-income women and families—including HeadStart and the Women, Infants, and Children nutrition and healthcare program.

But here's a little something to help stave off despair—a video reel of lady senators taking a stand against the Republicans who argue that the only way to create jobs nationally is to make cuts to women's healthcare. And guess which state was represented twice by its awesome lady senators? That's right—our girls Patty and Maria have our backs! It's worth remembering, especially now, that Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell are strong advocates for women, families, and gender equality.

I want to write them a thank-you card for taking the edge off. You can return the favor by signing the petition in support of our senators speaking out on the issue here.
