I love everything about this.

Ever seen a hairless raccoon? Not so cute now, are they. Also their fur is wiry as fuck, not nice at all to touch. Also they are a major rabies vector. And mean too.

Fuck raccoons. If this dude has a domesticated one, suits me just fine. One less varmint to bother anyone else. He can keep the fleas too.

Sure, like other things, issue a permit for keeping a raccoon to anyone that can pass the test. Btw, THIS is the test.

An animal that's been domesticated sufficiently to dance with, sleep next to, and shower with a human friend is no longer a wild animal. Regardless of species, it's become a domestic pet. Get it dipped for fleas, give it a rabies shot, and regulate its behavior as such.

I was wondering when we'd see a sequel to the Wonderful Whites of West Virginia.
6
Let him keep the raccoon, at this point he is tame and won't be able to live safely in the wild anymore.
7
Raccoons have scary parasites. Don't touch their poop.

Just make sure it gets it annual shots, get a "pet license" and it should be fine. The lack of a rabies shot is the only concern

If exceptions are permitted they should be spelled out, and not just allowed because a bunch of idiots on the internet think the animal is cute (which raccoons are not.)

Why not a wolf or a lion or a badger? If you want to keep an exotic pet, get a fucking permit and be a responsible owner. Case closed.

Let him keep the raccoon.

Let him amass an army of them, as they always do after one becomes "domesticated".

And then, let him show up on an episode of Animal Hordes so I may be entertained. Again.

Rabies is a concern, sure. You should also look up Baylisascariasis while you're at it, though. Raccoon roundworm is deadly to humans, and a huge proportion of raccoons carry it.
12
Rebekah is a morbidly obese raccoon.
13
What wedgwood99 said @12.

Still, let him keep her. I don't see how she's more of a threat than any other urban animal that has lost its fear of humans.
14
Uhhhh, 16 people actually prefer a possum for a house pet!!! That means they have had the opportunity to compare??? I am personally inclined toward beaver, but the pond thing is a pain..;-D
15
if the racoon's happy, i'm happy, and true, she's likely too far removed from her natural habitat to be let go at this point.
16
I voted keep, if for the solipsistic reason that watching the video made me irrationally happy for several minutes.

put that thing on a diet! stat
