Iowa Republican Jodi Ernst gets right to business in her campaign ad: The senatorial candidate introduces herself and then says, “I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm. So in Washington, Iโ€™ll know how to cut pork.” She closes the ad by promising to “Make [big government spenders] squeal,” followed by a squealing pig noise. It certainly is a memorable political ad:

You may laugh, but commenters at National Review‘s Corner blog are in love:

Republicans and Conservatives DESPERATELY need a few women in the Senate. This seems like a great start.

That just made my day ..

I’d vote for this gal…….twice!

Makes me wanna move to Iowa just so I can vote for her. ๐Ÿ˜€

That has to be the most awesome campaign ad in the history of advertising! I want to vote for her RIGHT NOW! (Despite living in a different state)

It’s a slick adโ€”Palin-y enough to get Republicans to fan their faces and shift in their seats a little bit, loaded with keywords like “Obamacare” and “balance the budget,” and a three-word biography (“MOTHER SOLDIER CONSERVATIVE”) that will have elderly voters saluting the flag and weeping within eight syllables. If she can give a speech, Ernst might have a long career ahead of her.
