UPDATE 10:24 AM: It’s over, but roundups are starting to appear all over the internet.
The speech certainly didn’t seem to indicate that the Obama Administration is swayed by Great Britain’s refusal to help on this. Kerry said the administration can say with “high confidence” that 1429 Syrians were killed in the most recent chemical weapons attack, including 426 children. He urged the American people to “read” the evidence “for yourselves,” insisting openly that this wasn’t another Iraq situation. Kerry railed against America’s “fatigue” in getting involved with another nation, saying that “history would judge us all extraordinarily harshly” if we didn’t take action. He also thanked “our oldest ally, the French.”
