Savage Lovecast Live @ Neptune Theatre
Not only does tonight bring a live taping of the internationally adored Savage Lovecast, itโs also a motherfucking holiday extravaganza, aimed at determining once and for all โIs Christmas sexy?โ Among the festivities: smart, dirty songs from singer/songwriter Rachel Lark, fleshy writhings by the Solid Gold Christmas Dancers, onstage high jinks by the Human Menorah and Adult Baby Jesus, and a guided tour of the upsetting world of sexy Christmas selfies. Meat Puppets & Cass McCombs @ Neumos
During SSTโs heyday, Meat Puppets defined the label as surely as Sonic Youth and Hรผsker Dรผ. While they had roots in hardcore, the Phoenix trio took on country shadings over the years, culminating in their breakthrough, 1984โs Meat Puppets II, which made such an indelible impression on Kurt Cobain that he covered three of its songs on Nirvanaโs MTV Unplugged in New York. Singer/songwriter Cass McCombs, who counts the late Karen Black among his favorite collaborators, belongs to a younger generation, but heโs been drinking from the same well, and the two co-headliners released a fantastic split single last month, on which McCombs brings his dusky vocals to a loping jazz-folk tune, while the reinvigorated Meat Puppets hurtle through a blast of Tex-Mex punk that recalls Minutemenโs immortal โCorona.โ KATHY FENNESSY

The Allah-Las and Co. @ Chop Suey
LA quartet Allah-Las reputedly were formed within the confines of that cityโs massive music emporium Amoeba Records. So it would make sense that the group has a keen sense of history, particularly of โ60s rock. In that sense, Allah-Las bring to mind Brian Jonestown Massacre, as both are keen appropriators of classic moves made by countless West Coast garage and psych bands from that era. Song after song, they nail that opiated guitar jangle, that languorous tambourine shake, that loping rhythm, that slack-jawed vocal delivery. Allah-Las re-create that studied cool as if itโs second nature, not some kind of crass pantomime. Tashaki Miyaki arenโt from Japan, but rather Los Angeles. The male/female duo offers lush, laid-back, orchestral modern popโincluding a cover of Chris Bellโs โThere Was a Lightโโthatโs as pretty as its photogenic creators. DAVE SEGAL

SLU Art Walk @ South Lake Union (Various locations)
South Lake Union, the city Amazon built (or as some may prefer to term it, “a rapidly evolving neighborhood”), has art too. More than 20 venues will be open, especially MadArt, where you can watch John Grade make his giant sculptures.

Lecture @ Seattle Art Museum
Khullar, an assistant professor of Art History at the UW, will lecture in conjunction with the City Dwellers exhibition of Indian artwork.
It’s Friday. It’s not frigid-ass cold anymore. Go do something, won’t you.
