Late last week, I leveled an indictment against this ping-pong table. I argued that it was essentially unusable because of its placement on the very breezy Pier 62. Well, it appears as though I may have been wrong.
Seattle Parks and Recreation has issued a firm rebuttal in the form of this photo, which appears to soundly refute my assertion. Nothing about the image appears to have been doctored, and at the moment I have every reason to believe that this is indeed a genuine article. Maybe one day I’ll be able to prove this scene was shot on a Hollywood backlot or something, but for now I can only chalk the whole thing up to a miraculously windless day, try it myself this summer, and then lodge my appeal.
