Perhaps you were captivated by the excerpt from Jon Ronson’s So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed—the book that addresses one of the most unwieldy moral, social, and linguistic issues of our time—in the New York Times Magazine back in February. Or maybe you’ve been enchanted by Ronson’s soft Welsh speaking voice on This American Life. There’s a perfectly good chance your admiration of Ronson issues from his back catalogue, books like The Psychopath Test, Them, Lost at Sea, and The Men Who Stare at Goats (which was much better than the George Clooney movie it got made into). Or it could be that you’re more familiar with the film Frank, which starred Michael Fassbender as a singer who performed inside a giant papier-mâché headpiece. Ronson wrote that, and played in Frank’s band in real life. Or, I don’t know, Twitter?

However you got there, it’s clear enough that you are enthralled by the smart, funny, empathetic, and brilliantly crafted work of Jon Ronson. Good news: He’s reading from So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed TONIGHT! Less good news: The reading is in Lake Forest Park, at Third Place Books (which, leaving aside the fact that it’s in Lake Forest Park, is a nice place). Nevertheless, it’ll be worth the trip.
