Capitol Hill Block Party (CHBP) today announced the first wave of performers confirmed for their 20th anniversary event, which is scheduled for July 22-24 in Seattle. Headliners include Scottish indie-pop band Chvrches, experimental electro-pop group Crystal Castles, and local electronic duo Odesza.

“Having Odesza headline our 20th anniversary is a special event not only for the city, but for the festival,” said Jason Lajeunesse, Capitol Hill Block Party’s owner and producer. “In 2013 they played an opening slot and now, just two years later, they are an international success. They could have played any festival in the region this year, but they chose to work with us because they had a special connection. That’s the definition of success for a festival that champions local talent like we do.”

Attendees will be able celebrate CHBP’s 20th anniversary by enjoying a diverse lineup of local and national artists. Three-day passes are available now, beginning at $135 until inventory runs out at www.capitolhillblockparty.strangertickets.com. Prices will then increase to $150 and $165. VIP tickets will also be available for $300, while supplies last and include access to an outdoor VIP Beer garden, complimentary food and beverages, CHBP SWAG including posters, t-shirts and additional swag from CHBP sponsors

CHBP will reveal the full 20th anniversary lineup and single day pass prices in early June. Details regarding the visual arts program, creative installations, digital activities, and more will be announced at a later date.

“Reaching a 20 year milestone really speaks to Capitol Hill’s commitment and support of music and art,” Lajeunesse said. “The city is growing at an alarming rate, so the fact that we are able to continue championing national and local music talent in the middle of the streets, on this scale, is pretty remarkable.”
